I’m gonna do a survey on people in my community on littering in Utah. I’m balancing qualitative with quantitative questions with qualitative questions by putting qualitative questions as an addon to quantitative questions. This allows there to not only be data on their ideas, but also allows for them to explain why they think a certain way for the more indepth data.

3. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you feel litter impacts your life?
4. Explain why you think this way.
5. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much litter do you see on the streets?
6. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you think litter impacts drivers on the road?
7. Explain why you think this way.
8. Have you found yourself impacted negatively by litter?

9. Explain why you answered yes or no.
10. What types of litter do you see more often?

• Small items (cans, wrappers, grocery bags, etc)
• Big items (sofa, chair, tires (usually on the road))

11. What location have you seen the most litter in? (school, grocery store, neighborhood, etc)

I think on this survey I will send it out to my friends and maybe other people in Skyline by sending them the survey online. This would make it easy to gather data specifically in Utah and maybe center around the Skyline area. The Skyline area is kind of my community but also my own neighborhood too and the places I go, so I think that should apply to the people taking this survey too.
